I read recently a review of the book "The Forest of Hands and Teeth" and made a mental note to myself to make sure it receives some time. Carrie Ryan's seemingly unique zombie novel is en route to becoming a movie by Seven Star Pictures.
In a nutshell, the book takes place about 100 years after the zombie apocalypse. The story's main character, Mary, is a teenage girl living in a village surrounded by a chain-link fence. Contained within is the "Sisterhood", a religous group that controls every aspect of life in the town. Marriage, birth, and even death is controlled and planned by the Sisterhood. Outside of this fence lies the forest of hands and teeth. A threat Mary must face to escape her life inside the fence.
I have a review of this book coming out the week of August 9th, which is Juniour Zombie week at THE ZED WORD zombie blog.
ReplyDeleteIn short, it's fan-freaking-tastic.
Thanks for mentioning! I'll make sure to post a reminder and can't wait to read it.
