Eejits - Contest and Review

It should be no mystery to anyone reading that if it involves zombies, I’m interested in it. Well, my zombie searching took me to an unexpected place… a company that makes stuffed animals. Allow me to introduce Eejits, run and owned by Emily Taylor. More than a unique name, Eejits are quality, hand-made little friends. Eejits are made from polar fleece and felt with polyester filling. They are unique as each one is handmade and their strange shapes and designs make them interesting odd gifts for all ages. To learn more about the Eejits story, click here.

They are available primarily in three different forms: Cat, Rabbit, and Bear. Each of the three basic forms can be purchased in several different designs. Yes, one of these designs is “zombie”. They measure about 6” tall and are very close in size and craftsmanship to the smaller Uglydolls. My son instantly took to these little guys and spent the better part of an afternoon playing with his Eejit. This also included a bit of a tugging match between him and little sister so I can attest first-hand to the durability of these guys.

Like most toys, Eejits will either really appeal to you or you won't care at all. Personally, I think they're great. The quality is top-notch. The stuffing creates a firm character while still allowing ample room for squishy hugs. The stitching is very professional including the sewn-on designs and it's obvious that not only will they display well but can take some abuse. Everything from the cute shapes to button eyes make you wish you were a kid again. Another nice touch is the Eejits tag that comes attached to each one.

Being a purchaser of vinyl toys and collectibles, I was drawn to these guys on more of an artistic, creative level. But after seeing my kids who are 4 1/2 and 1 1/2 get excited when they arrived, my outlook of the Eejits changed a bit. They are the perfect size for little hands and are bizarringly cute enough to turn heads and raise eyebrows. I must admit, I take joy in knowing my kids are lugging around and playing with something your neighbor can't run down the street and buy. It's almost like I'm passing my collecting hobby onto them on more of a level they can relate to.

Enough of my opinions, take a gander at some of the pics I took. Then, form your own opinions by heading over to the Eejits site to buy one of your own. Want more good news? Emily was kind enough to sponsor November's contest! For your chance to take home your very own Eejit, email your name and address to Eejits@zombiesandtoys.com. Please include the number that corresponds to the Eejit you would like to win. Eejit #1 is on the left, #2 top, #3 right, and #4 bottom. Winners will be selected at the end of the month.
