The Circus of Horror Invades Llandudno

David Brown

If you live in the UK and can get to Venue Cymru, Llandudno on January 26, then you will find a great show filled with the bizarre and beautiful. Thsoe who have seen the past Circus of Horrors performances have said “the best way to describe the Circus of Horrors is to imagine if Quentin Tarantino had directed Cirque Du Soleil – then you would be only half way there”.

The new show will take audiences on a journey through all of the previous incarnations and will traverse many generations. It first starts in a French Asylum where the inmates have liberated and become performers. Upon killing their leader they move across Mexico in remorse to try to revive him during the Day of the Dead celebrations. From there, we are taken to Victorian London of the late 1890s where a Freak Show has come to town. A young girl, Regan, who is born in the Asylum is woken from a deep sleep to run away and join the circus. She is unfortunately sacrificed by an evil and undead Dr. Haze and fed to vampires. Audiences are then thrown through time to 2020 where there is a Mad Max-style civilization inhabited by vampire, zombies, and the undead. Regan is back to seek revenge on her slayer, with disastrous consequences.

This entire story is just the tip of the gory iceberg as audiences will be able to see bizarre and beautiful circus acts including a daredevil flying trapeze and a woman suspended only by her hair. There are also knife throwers and sword swallowers here. If you live close to Venue Cymru and would like more information on ticket pricing and show times, you may contact the box office at 01492872000 or visit them online at www.venuecymru.co.uk.
