Coming tomorrow, McMillan books and award winning editor
Christopher Golden bring us 21st Century Dead; a follow up to the “eclectic”
zombie anthology The New Dead which was released in February of 2010. This time
around, zombie fans can expect more of the same high quality content that
earned Golden the Stoker award and an induction into the Horror Writer’s
Association. The lineup of authors contributing to this anthology includes
names such as S.G. Browne, Jonathan Maberry, Brian Keene, and Orson Scott Card;
but, also has a list of brand new and relatively newer editions, such as
Stephanie Crawford and Amber Benson. Very cool to note is that the table of
contents lists quite a few female authors, which our genre seems to have a
shortage of. Check out the complete list of contributors and their respective
works below:
“Zombies Are Good For You: An Introduction” by Christopher
Golden
“Biters” by Mark Morris
“Why Mothers Let Their Babies Watch Television: A Just-So
Horror Story” by Chelsea Cain
“Carousel” by Orson Scott Card
“Reality Bites” by S.G. Browne
“The Drop” by Stephen Susco
“Antiparallelogram” by Amber Benson
“How We Escaped Our Certain Fate” by Dan Chaon
“A Mother’s Love” by John McIlveen
“Down and Out in Dead Town” by Simon R. Green
“Devil Dust” by Caitlin Kittredge
“The Dead of Dromore” by Ken Bruen
“All the Comforts of Home: A Beacon Story” by John Skipp
& Cody Goodfellow
“Ghost Dog & Pup: Stay” by Thomas E. Sniegoski
“Tic Boom, A Love Story” by Kurt Sutter
“Jack and Jill” by Jonathan Maberry
“Tender as Teeth” by Stephanie Crawford & Duane
Swierczynski
“Couch Potato” by Brian Keene
“The Happy Bird and Other Tales” by Rio Youers
“Parasite” by Daniel H. Wilson
Luckily enough, McMillan has also released John McIlveen’s short
story “A Mother’s Love” over on their website, at CRIMINALELEMENT.COM. Check it
out and tune back in for our two-part roundtable discussion in preparation for
the launch of 21st Century Dead: a Zombie Anthology from McMillan
books.
