Syracuse Becomes Scare-A-Cuse This September

David Brown

Being a rabid zombie fan, I love to go to conventions and meet many of the actors and fans whom share my passion for everything which is horror and zombie themed. Imagine the excitement when we learned that Scare-A-Cuse is set to invade the OnCenter in Syracuse, NY during the weekend of September 9-11, 2011. It is being billed as the area's first full-blown, horror, science fiction, and paranormal convention. According to the website, there are going to be a number of things to do at Scare-A-Cuse including:

  • Meet & greet celebrities – get autographs and pictures with some really cool people!

  • Participate in panel discussions with some of the most knowledgeable people in the business!

  • Enjoy some great independent films, as well as some recognizable classics now that the Syracuse Horror Sci-Fi & Fantasy Film Festival is part of SCARE-A-CUSE!

  • Participate, or just observe many Anime specific activities – including, COSplay, and contests!

  • Enjoy an evening with your favorite undead during our Saturday night Zombie Party!

  • Celebrities slated to appear, thus far, are Jason Hawes and Britt Griffith of Ghosthunters fame, Kathleen Kinmont, Betsy Rue, Cerina Vincent, Kristanna Loken, Danielle Harris, Gigi Bannister, Reggie Bannister, and Adrienne Barbeau.

Tickets are $45, in advance, for all three days. VIP passes are $100 for all three days. Day passes for Friday and Sunday are $25 with passes on Saturday costing $30. If you are a student, you may get in on Friday and Sunday for $20 and on Saturday for $25. Also, if you have children 10 and under, their admission is free during daytime events.

Stay tuned to Zombiesandtoys as we continue our coverage on this convention, along with any news and updates that we may receive; and if you would like to know more, check them out over at http://scare-a-cuse.net/.
