The Zombie ACRES Project

Todd Jepperson

Zombie A.C.R.E.S. (Animated Corpses Reintegration Experimental Subdivision) is an empire in infancy. They’ve got eBooks, merchandise, fiction, artwork, contests and give-aways for every occasion. If you enjoy what you see, put your dime down and become part of the project by joining the ‘street’ or ‘net’ teams. They’re looking for talented writers and artists along with ambitious fans who wouldn’t mind dropping a flyer or tweet every now and then.

But what is Zombie ACRES, you ask?

“Zombie A.C.R.E.S is [their] own world where Roslun Global has dominated the pharmaceutical landscape; and with that domination comes all the money and power you would expect. All of this was used to try and find a way to stop death… and with success… kinda…
Roslun has managed to create walking and talking zombies, and has built a gated community to house these experiments… these horrors. Enter Zombie A.C.R.E.S. (Animated Corpses Reintegration Experimental Subdivision). But all is not well in this land of greed and death, as it seems a side effect of this process may be a conscience, or one lone salesman of death has found his own conscience, since he speaks up against Zombie A.C.R.E.S. and Roslun Global.”

Easily my favorite part of the project, so far, is the ten part fiction section in the sidebar. There, you’ll find titles such as Behind Closed Doors, Mommy Deadest, and The Boy Who Cried Zombie. Each of these stories is worth at least as much of your time as it will take to read them through. My favorite, (again, so far,) is Tough Love. We’d hate to spoil plots for you, so we’re not going to here. We’ll just let you know what’s there and have you go read what they have and enjoy them for yourselves. You’ll have to remember that these are not professional pieces of literature, though. Just sticking to the story Tough Love, I can make a short list of imperfections; but, the point is that the stories are great. I can sit through a tense discrepancy, or a misnomer if the story is engaging enough and I think you’ll find that most of these are.

It’s hard to put into one post exactly who the Zombie ACRES are, or what they do, so just know that there’s a small part of the WWW that’s massing, and you’ll wanna find it before it passes you by. Check out Zombie ACRES and enter their current (as of this writing) contest to win your own cute little Zombie plush. To make sure you don’t miss out on any of the updates, check them out on Facebook and follow them on Twitter. With enough support, this could really turn out to be a great place for creative enthusiasts to get a good start into the slow-paced, hungry world of the living dead.
