(REC)4: Apocalypse - Latest Teaser Poster has been unleashed !!

  Fans waiting to press the (Rec) button in order to watch some infected goodness will be overly pleased with the release today of the teaser poster & trailer for the latest installment of the Spanish-Zombie series - this one titled (REC)4: Apocalypse - and this one looks to be shedding some serious blood, and will focus on a main character from the first movie itself.

    Angela Vidal, the reporter who piggybacked the fireman into the apartment building in (REC), has mysteriously re-emerged from the structure, apparently unharmed. Unknown to her rescuers, she still carries a strain of the infection in her bloodstream while she is carted off to a remodeled oil tanker acting as as a quarantine facility, in order to serve out a mandatory waiting period for any and all survivors of the catastrophe.

Latest World War Z poster: bringing down the chopper !

        What seemed like a far-reaching dream now appears to be getting closer with every new nugget of undead information. World War Z, the movie adaptation of Author Max Brooks best-selling novel, is gaining some serious steam towards its June 21st theatrical release date and feeding ravenous zombie fans a heaping helping of rage-infected goodness !

       The latest piece of info has materialized in the latest poster advertising the movie itself. It shows the throngs of psychotic flesh-munchers swarming over the top of an overturned automobile and leaping to cling onto an attack helicopter, bringing it to a seemingly destined downspin.

   
    If the poster hasn't made you want to run out right now and stand in line at the movie theater (okay, so you would be waiting a little while), you can always click on the above video link to check out the latest trailer for the movie and get ready to start drooling heavily. Heart Land trailer: Coming Soon ?

Amongst the plethora of zombie apocalypse movies that have surrounded us lately like a pack of rampaging, virus-infected maniacs, we the viewers have seen literally every form and fashion of life fighting off the undead, but what if for a moment, we looked towards the children ?

Coming ( hopefully) soon from the ultra-creative minds at Centermass Studios, is the film Heart Land, which focuses on a small band of young children and their struggles to survive against the backdrop of a zombie outbreak. While little is known about the movie itself, you can sort of get a gauge from focusing your peepers on the trailer, which looks very impressive. Followed Trailer Now Available

A few weeks back, we brought you some info about a mysterious new zombie film.  Followed, is based on the critically acclaimed short story from Hugo Award winning author Will McIntosh.  It's the story of a socially-responsible professor and how his perfect world is threatened by the appearance of a tag-along zombie child."

Well, we now have a trailer to show!  We'll have more news as it's available.

Insidious - movie preview

What do you get when you combine the minds behind Saw and Paranormal Activity? You get a movie directed by James Wan and written by Leigh Whannell, co-creators of Saw, and produced by Jason Blum, Steven Schneider, and Oren Peli, famous for Paranormal Activity. Alongside them, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones joins on to executive produce.

Insidious looks to be a return to the style of films like Poltergeist where evil sprits confront a family moving into a new house. According to a blurb on the website of the Toronto International Film Festival, where the film premiered earlier this month, Insidious “transcends the real-estate spookiness of previous concepts like Amityville Horror, forging a genre-bending experiment that has more in common with Carnival of Lost Souls.

The movie involves Josh and Renai, played respectively by Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne, and their three young children. Tragedy strikes their youngest son, and Josh and Renai start to experience things that science cannot explain. One thing is for sure, this movie looks to scare audiences. From the clip that has been released by the studio, you see that there is a lot going on in a small confined space with the sense of drama and agony all being portrayed at once. This is simply a movie about a family trying to save a comatose boy from an unseen evil. This is truly shaping up to be a movie that returns to the basic premise of good versus evil that so many movies have since forgotten. This will be one to watch when it gets released and one that I will certainly not hesitate to go see.

Three New Trialers For The Walking Dead

Less than 2 months!  As if Halloween couldn't be a better holiday for zombie fans, we have The Walking Dead series to look forward to!  There's still time to read the books and I suggest to everyone to do just that!  To hold us over until the next batch of news, here are three new trailers:

The Walking Dead - Official Trailer

The official trailer for AMC's The Walking Dead is now available for all to enjoy.  Some of our Facebook fans were able to catch the bootleg version that was shown at SDCC thanks to Jackie.  Even if you saw it then, don't wait to watch it again!  The Walking Dead will air on Halloween.

"The Horde" - New International Trailer

The Horde will be available through Video On Demand this August thanks to IFC Films. We have been reporting on this film since April of last year! IFC Films seems to come through and I'm excited that they picked up the domestic rights to this film. Enjoy the new trailer and you will see why.

Dead Rising Movie Confirmed

So... a movie based on a video game that was based on a movie. Sounds about right. Dead Rising, a game based on George Romero's Dawn of the Dead is now getting a movie. The movie will be directed by Keiji Inafune who also created the original video game.

The movie will be available later this year through XBox Live and will follow two brothers who are trying to escape an area of Japan. Of course, they are escaping because of the zombie virus that has caused said area to be quarantined.

Those of you living in Japan can look to see this later in the year! Oh, yeah... did I forget to mention that it is being released only in Japan?

Revenant - A Unique-Looking Zombie Film

So, this one slipped past me and shame on those of you who read and didn't bother to let me know! Luckily, Eric from YouBentMyWookie was kind enough to give me a heads-up.

Here is the synopsis direct from The Revenant official site:

The Revenant is a story about an ancient pestilence recurring to infect modern society.

Officer First Class Bart Gregory is killed while fighting in Middle East. His body is shipped back to the United States and laid to rest, but before the lid can be put on his tomb, Bart inexplicably awakens in his coffin and climbs from his grave; confused, horrified--a moldy, putrefying living corpse--a Revenant.

Bart desperately enlists the help of his best friend, Joey Leubner, in an attempt to ease his nausea and agony. Joey is shocked--and disgusted--by his putrescent pal’s return, but he rises to the occasion and tries to find a solution. When a panicked emergency room forces the confused corpse to flee, the two friends discover that there is only one cure for Bart's condition: Human blood.

In their quest to keep Bart from decomposing Bart and Joey stumble into a solution—a way to obtain blood without taking innocent lives, becoming "The Vigilante Gun-Slingers”. But as their macabre crusade continues, they become entwined in an ever escalating cycle of violence, mayhem and ghoulism . . . all while cruising in a 1979 Camaro.

Deadgirl Movie Review

First, I would like to thank Caitlin at Falco Inc Film Publicity for the opportunity to review this film. The homepage for Deadgirl can be found here. The DVD release will be on Sept 15 and you can pre-order your copy here. I apologize if the review is somewhat vague. I'm a huge fan of being surprised when I see a film and don't like to mention details that could ruin your viewing experience.

Deadgirl. A movie about a zombie without saying "zombie". It would even be wrong to actually say it's a zombie film. At least it's not the type of movie you imagine when one mentions "zombie". Deadgirl is more of a movie about two young men and what they do when they find a ...well, dead girl. Is it worth watching? Yes. Read on as I explain with a bit more depth. Like my other reviews, there will be no spoilers but you can expect some revealing of key moments.

Rickie (Shiloh Fernandez) and J.T. (Noah Segan) are two of your run-of-the-mill troubled youths. While outside during a fire drill, J.T. coaxes Rickie to skip the remainder of the day to drink some warm beer. Of course, what better place to drink beer than an abandoned hospital?

All is going well until a stray dog wandering around inside chase our duo into a particularly desolate area of the hospital's basement. Searching for a way out, they break their way into a room where they discover a female body under a sheet of clear plastic. Even though her arms and legs are tied down, they notice some movement. Rickie wants to notify the authorities while J.T. forcefully expresses an alternate idea. J.T. wants to keep the girl as their own personal plaything. Soon after, it is discovered that even though she is moving, she is not alive.

Even though they swore they would keep this discovery a secret between them, J.T. lets another friend in on the fun. The trio are somewhat outcasts in their school, a typical scenario in teen-angst movies. So, of course, when backed into a corner by the "jocks" of the school the news gets out about their sex slave. This alters some plans for better and for worse that J.T. had for his possession.

I'll stop here as I don't want to ruin any specifics. Again, this is a movie about the actions and reactions of a group of teenage boys in a very bizarre situation. The fact that there is a zombie isn't the meat of the film; it's a situation. There are some things I did not like but discussing those would give away too much. I will say that it is a good film. View the trailers below; They don't give away much and will add a nice visual to parts of the review. Be warned that both show some nudity and the second is the red band trailer.



Acting is rough at points and some of the stereotypes get a bit played but that's usually par for the course with movies of this type. Towards the end, new discoveries unfold leading to new destinations. For the most part characters handle the situations they are in well and there are enough developments to keep you interested. Watch the movie, just don't expect hordes of shambling zombies; Just a dead girl.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Looks scary as hell. Still not sure about that ceiling crawling thing yet, though.

[Rec] 2 - Pics and Clips

Due for release at the end of the year, [Rec] 2 looks to pick up where the first left off. And judging by the trailers looks intense! I still can't seem to get my hands on a copy of the first [Rec] but did see Quarantine which, as you know, is a remake. I thought Quarantine was good for the most part but I felt some of the character's behaviors did not fit. Though, there are worse movies to watch.
