Zombie Shirts

Some new zombie shirts are popping up that may be of interest. First, our friends at FearWerx have a some new designs to add in addition to the classic ones they have been offering. They also have some Winchester Tavern attire that does not appear with a normal "zombie" search. Their new shirts include a "No Running Zombies" design and, my favorite, the glow-in-the-dark "Zombie Evolution" shirt.

Threadless T's have also unearthed some previously sold out designs including "The Horde" and "In Case of Zombies".

Sourpuss Clothing also has a ton... and I mean a TON of various zombie accessories. One thing I found interesting and just in time for summer is the zombie bikini.

Update

Just another "update" post to let everyone know what's in store in the coming months here at Zombies & Toys...

As I have said in the past, my lack of updates definitely does not translate to a lack of work. The Undead Bazaar has been taking up the majority of my time this month. I have been slightly overwhelmed and have some new participants. Therefore, The Undead Bazaar is going to extend into June. We still have plenty of artists to cover and great items to give away! Speaking of, our first contest will have a winner chosen this weekend so don't forget to enter now!

We have been steadily stocking new items in the Zombie Toy Store. We have added several new art collectible toys, movie figures, and some vintage zombie toys. We do not ask for donations to keep the blog running and never will. But we will soon have "swag bag" items in the toy store. These swag bags will vary in content and price containing stickers, buttons, key chains, shirts, mouse pads, and other items to show your support for Zombies & Toys.

Speaking of showing your support, we are "toying" with the idea of recruiting for a street team. Specifics have not been worked out, but if you would like to help our community grow by displaying postcard fliers, stickers, buttons, and other items please contact Jason at zombiesandtoys@gmail.com with your suggestions of how you can help.

There will be plenty of great contests throughout the summer and beyond! Sourpuss Clothing will be back with some zombie accessories. Fright Rags has some great shirts to give away. Zombie Ammo has sent us some zombie target sets to help you prepare for the apocalypse. FearWerx will be back with some more of their great zombie items. Horror Signs has more sweet signs, stickers, and magnets to give away. Zombie Blood will be awarding 3 lucky readers 4-packs of their Zombie Blood energy drink (exclusive contest for facebook fans).

Zombies & Toys will also be sponsoring a contest with our good friends over at Toy Break. For those not in the know, Toy Break is a weekly show about... well... toys. It's a show I look forward to every week. We have sent them an exclusive Zombies & Toys zombie bust hand sculpted and painted by Philip Hynes!

New Contest For September!

Due to the late start, August's contest is going to run until this Friday, September 4th. So don't forget to enter to win some sweet, sweet zombie swag courtesy of FearWerx! They generously donated a ton of awesome prizes for everyone so don't miss on the opportunity.

Well... just because one contest hasn't ended doesn't mean we can't start another one! Keen readers will remember my mentioning an upcoming book from David P. Murphy titled Zombies For Zombies - Advice and Etiquette for the Living Dead. The book is not released until October 1st but Mr. Murphy and publisher, Source Books, have been kind enough to offer readers a chance to take this book home! I am currently reading this myself and you can expect a review shortly.

The fun doesn't end there! Facebook followers already know that I announced there will be two contests this month! So expect the second contest to announced shortly. I will give you a small hint, though... here at Zombies & Toys, September will be Zombie Art Month. So, aside from a book, expect another artistic interpretation of our favorite subject as the second prize. Not to mention some interviews and pics from some of my favorite artists!

Through my virtual travels on the good 'ol internets, I encounter and report about as much zombie related news as I can find. Sometimes these travels bring me to the doorstep of stores, companies, and vendors. It's always a good time when I can share news about great zombie merchandise but it's an even better time when I can tell you that one of these companies has agreed to give my readers some of their offerings.

New Zombie Toy By FearWerx

FearWerx, an online outlet for horror merchandise, has a treat in store for anyone attending the MonsterMania convention in Hartford, Connecticut June 12-14. They will have an exclusive and unique zombie figure available.

The figure is being built by President and Creative Director Joe Sena, along with his partner on the EMCE Toys brand Paul “Dr. Mego” Clarke. It is, like all the figures produced by EMCE, an 8” articulated plastic figure with a cloth costume, developed in the style of the classic ‘70s figures manufactured by MEGO.

This one will be a little different and feature a solid resin head. The figure is named "War of the Dead: Z•E•R•O - Zombie Type One". The name comes from their popular Zombie Outbreak Survival Kit which contained several cards detailing the different "types" of zombies.

I plan on revisiting FearWerx and their offerings soon. In the meantime, enjoy the released pics of Zombie Type One.
