Most of you are already aware of Sourpuss Clothing and the great products they offer.  We stock some of their items in the Zombie Toy Store but I encourage you to check their site for some great items to pick up for the holidays.

Sourpuss Clothing's September Contest

The great folks at Sourpuss Clothing are back again with more zombie goodness to give away this month!

Sourpuss Clothing Contest

So I feel bad for neglecting the babies. Apparently, Sourpuss Clothing feels the same way. I mean, we always have great zombie attire to wear but what do they get? This month's contest prize!

So this month's Sourpuss Clothing contest is for an awesome "Eat Brains" baby onsie. Man, I wish this was around when my kids were babies. Sourpuss has a ton of great zombie attire for all ages. Everything from hair clips and stockings to wallets and shirts. Even my five-year-old son wears Sourpuss shirts!

The majority of their zombie offerings have more of a modern vibe to them. If their zombie attire were music, I would say Sourpuss is more "Rock-a-billy" than "Heavy Metal". Go check them out and make your own decision.

Zombie Shirts

Some new zombie shirts are popping up that may be of interest. First, our friends at FearWerx have a some new designs to add in addition to the classic ones they have been offering. They also have some Winchester Tavern attire that does not appear with a normal "zombie" search. Their new shirts include a "No Running Zombies" design and, my favorite, the glow-in-the-dark "Zombie Evolution" shirt.

Threadless T's have also unearthed some previously sold out designs including "The Horde" and "In Case of Zombies".

Sourpuss Clothing also has a ton... and I mean a TON of various zombie accessories. One thing I found interesting and just in time for summer is the zombie bikini.

Update

Just another "update" post to let everyone know what's in store in the coming months here at Zombies & Toys...

As I have said in the past, my lack of updates definitely does not translate to a lack of work. The Undead Bazaar has been taking up the majority of my time this month. I have been slightly overwhelmed and have some new participants. Therefore, The Undead Bazaar is going to extend into June. We still have plenty of artists to cover and great items to give away! Speaking of, our first contest will have a winner chosen this weekend so don't forget to enter now!

We have been steadily stocking new items in the Zombie Toy Store. We have added several new art collectible toys, movie figures, and some vintage zombie toys. We do not ask for donations to keep the blog running and never will. But we will soon have "swag bag" items in the toy store. These swag bags will vary in content and price containing stickers, buttons, key chains, shirts, mouse pads, and other items to show your support for Zombies & Toys.

Speaking of showing your support, we are "toying" with the idea of recruiting for a street team. Specifics have not been worked out, but if you would like to help our community grow by displaying postcard fliers, stickers, buttons, and other items please contact Jason at zombiesandtoys@gmail.com with your suggestions of how you can help.

There will be plenty of great contests throughout the summer and beyond! Sourpuss Clothing will be back with some zombie accessories. Fright Rags has some great shirts to give away. Welcome to the first of several posts designed to help you find the best gift for your zombie-lovin' family and friends. Or grab a pen and paper and start writing those lists to Santa. To start things off, let us take a look at the easiest way to publicly show your love for the undead.


Most of the time clothes are a safe bet as a gift and lucky for you I have a few suggestions. Unique zombie-enthusiast garb can sometimes be difficult to track down but I have several suggestions of where to look and each has their own flavor to suit your needs.

Horror Realm - Part Two

So I'm back to wrap up my report on Horror Realm. Read the first part to hear about Frank Serrao, Robert Cordray, S.G. Browne, and Billy Tackett.

During my visit, I had the honor of meeting Kim Paffenroth. Kim is the author of several zombie novels including one of my personal favorites, Dying to Live. He has also written Gospel of the Living Dead: George Romero's Visions of Hell on Earth, The World Is Dead, History Is Dead: A Zombie Anthology, Dying to Live: Life Sentence, as well as many others. Kim's Amazon page can be found here and you can check out Kim's blog here. Kim not only took the time to the book I brought and ones I purchased, he was also kind enough to offer a book for one of our contests and answer some fun zombie questions! Here's what Kim had to say:

If we were in the midst of a zombie fight and you were bitten, would you want me shoot you or leave you be? I don’t think being a zombie is going to be that bad so I’m going to say I’ll go sit under a tree.

If you were a zombie and had the opportunity to eat anyone's brain in the world, who's brain would you eat? That’s a tough one. On one end you should say a smart person, but on the other it would be nice to get someone who’s really bad. So you know, I think the world would be better off without Dick Cheney’s brain functioning. Its not doing us any good at the moment. I don’t know if I want that on the internet. I’ll have the secret service after me. (note to secret service reading: we were both laughing over this answer so please don't bust down Kim's door)

If we were going to make a Kim Paffenroth toy, would you be a zombie or a hero? I don’t know about hero... Okay, zombie slayer... I'd be the guy behind the scenes trying to organize the community.

What accessories would you come with? A Book and Binoculars.

I also had the opportunity to speak to Travis Adkins. Travis is responsible for several zombie novels including another one of my favorites, Twilight of the Dead. Travis was kind enough to offer his follow-up to Twilight, After Twilight: Walking with the Dead, for review. So (hopefully) I'll have that posted soon!

Also in attendance at Horror Realm was Ken Foree from Romero's Dawn of the Dead. Meeting Ken was really the only thing I found disappointing at Horror Realm. He declined to offer any comments to the few brief questions I had and didn't seem too thrilled to even sign a photo. I was able to catch him early on for a photo, though.

There were a hand full of vendors available in addition to all of the great guests in attendance. My personal favorite was the display provided by Sourpuss clothing and accessories. There was a large selection of genre shirts and even a large selection of children's sizes and onesies for the baby. Here are some pics of my son modeling his new zombie shirt. Actually, it's a young Frankenstein-type but I'm not going to tell him that. He's been wanting a zombie shirt for awhile.

When the zombie apocalypse happens, where do you want to be? Anywhere in a large military tank with plenty of food and fuel.
